Why massage therapy?

I’ve worked at Beaumont Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic as a receptionist/physio aid for the past 7 years. Seeing different injuries and seeing people heal is why I wanted to pursue a career in Massage Therapy. Whether you need to relax, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being. I also love that massage is a customized experience tailored for each person.

Why is Beaumont special to you?

I was born and raised in Beaumont and have seen this town grow so much. I love that you can go to the grocery store or an event in town and can have a conversation with almost everyone there. It really makes me feel connected.

What do you wish people knew about massage?

People often don’t know that massage is much more then just relaxation now. Massage Therapists can treat all kinds of conditions from acute injuries; like sprain, strain, tendinitis to chronic injuries; like scoliosis, frozen shoulder, rehab from surgery. There are many different options of massage as well, Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Relaxation Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Reiki, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Myofascial Cupping, and Hot Stone Massage.

What is your favorite product to suggest for patients?

I love to suggest foam rolls, tiger tails (which is like a rolling pin) or acupressure balls. They are also great self-massage tools that help reach difficult areas of the body.

Favorite place to eat in Beaumont?

All-time favorite Beaumont food is Maina’s Poutine. I’m drooling just thinking about it! I also love Saigon Delight’s, it has so many varieties to choose from.

When you’re not at work what are you likely to be doing?

In the summers I love to enjoy the sun and go camping, but in the winters I love to cozy up with a book and play indoor soccer. If I’m around town, I’m usually with family or friends or spending time at my house.
